My names are Symmone Rodney Oganga. I have been working for the INCIP
(Indigenous Chicken Improvement Project)
www.incip.org for the last four years and Value Lead
www.valuelead.org in the Department of
Animal Sciences as Office/Administrative Assistant. The experience I have has
given me an opportunity to improve on my skills such as hospitality, office
etiquette, full spectrum of computing skills eg MS Office applications,
databases, spreadsheets, internet, presentation/Power Point skills, Geographical
Information Systems (GIS) and many others. The job gives me the opportunity to
meet and interact with people and it has been a benchmark for improving on my
organizational skills. During my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, swimming,
coaching young kids basketball. I have volunteered for and participated in:-
- Red Cross Society of Kenya and community youth groups involvement in
HIV/AIDS Awareness/Sensitisation.
- Tree planting during Environmental Week.
- Freedom From Hunger walk of Kenya.
- Support the ‘Girl Child Walk’, Centres for Women and Gender
Analysis, Egerton University, Njoro.
- Participation in Egerton Christian Youth (ECY) in seminars and
charities.
- Certificate and first aid work involvement.
